Greetings,
Here we are, near the end of our 17th school year! Every year we take a moment to appreciate the growth and progress that each and every child has made this year and we hope that you can see it, too! Good-bye to all of the kindergartners that are graduating to 1st grade. :( Many of them have been with us for 3 years and we will surely miss them.

MSCK May Calendar

Last Day of School |
|
The last day of MSCK's calendar/curriculum year will be May 30. Some of our teachers offer great additional learning experiences during the summer. Mrs. Marsh runs a program in June and Mrs. McClendon runs a summer program. Ask your child's teacher for more information regarding these programs.
Barker Creek Montessori's last day of school will be May 29th and the picnic will be on May 30th. The picnic will again be held at Island Lake County Park. Plan to arrive anytime after 10:30 AM and meet at the playground with the beach area (the middle of the three parking lots on Island Lake Rd.). Bring a lunch, blanket, swimsuit, towel, sand toys, etc. The water is quite cold, but there are several kids that just can't resist getting wet! The teachers will be there until about 2:00 PM.
Steele Creek Montessori's last day of school will be June 18th and the picnic will be on June 19th. The picnic will be held at Wildcat Lake. Information has been sent home with your child. For more information or if you have questions please see your child's teacher. |
| 2008 - 2009 School Year |
Remember that a $100.00 nonrefundable deposit is due on June 1 for the 2008-2009 school year. This $100.00 will be deducted from your September tuition. You will receive a newsletter in the middle of August with all the information you will need for the coming year. If you have questions in the mean time - please don't hesitate to call. The school answering machines will be checked every few days. |
| Summer School |
It's time to start thinking about Summer School. We will be having one morning class held at Barker Creek's new location (Family of God Lutheran Church) that will be Monday - Thursday. You can sign up on a weekly basis so fit us into your summer plans. Ask your child's teacher for an application.

During the month of March we learned about our clothes in sign language and in April we learned signs for different people. Not all of the words are shown on the online browser, however, handouts are available from your teacher if you wish (better yet, ask your child!) Have fun and encourage your kids to try sentences with these words.

Looking to the future!
Plans continue to progress for the remodel of Steele Creek. The teachers and children at Barker Creek are really looking forward to their new home. A contractor (Peter Westlake - Kiwi Homes) is lined up for the summer work. We have been organizing our storage room (no small task!) The office/workroom is nicely organized and is already in full use. Many Barker Creek parents have been asking to see next year's classroom, to get a feel for where it is, what it looks like, etc. I am planning an open house at SCM for all BCM parents on Sunday, May 18 from 2:00 - 4:00. Please feel free to stop by at that time to check it out. Of course, the remodel will not have happened yet, but you'll get a good idea of what is to come. The address is: 7500 Old Military Rd. We are the only suite on the lower level. See you then! |
