"Our children have gained immensely from their experience at Barker Creek Montessori. Respect for nature, good citizenship, a sense of self-worth and a strong academic foundation are all integrated in a very nurturing and highly stimulating environment."
~ Ty & Leila Chun
At MSCK we teach respect for all cultures with a variety of stories and activities. Our children are accustomed to celebrating diversity as well as sameness. They can often be found dancing a European circle dance, eating sushi, or wearing African Kufi hats.
Sign Language (ASL) is an extra area of study that we provide at both our campuses. The children are in a "sensitive period" for second language studies and can quickly assimilate this useful language.
The Barker Creek campus is located on a salmon creek. We use the salmon life cycle to teach children about caring for the creek, the earth, and all of its inhabitants.
